Cafe’s and coffee places had been mushrooming around the Klang Valley, I’ve lost count while my coffee place to visit list continues to grow. Well, our coffee gathering was considered a success last night, together with Ah Bok, Anna, Jackie and Eric to check out Ministry of Coffee located in Soho KL.
Ministry of Coffee is owned by Bok’s friends Michael and Mark. The place serves brunch, mains and cakes apart from coffee. Brunch menu starts in the morning till 3pm.
The cafe was partly hidden, located at the back so it’s not easy to locate however a great place to hangout and chill over coffee.
A cup of Piccolo Latte, RM 11 (off the menu, but you can ask for it)
Baileys Coffee, RM 18
My verdict, Ministry of Coffee uses Doi Chaang coffee (some of you may be familiar with Doi Chaang in JayaOne) it’s taste is robust however, in my personal preference the cup size used by MOC are relatively big as compared to normal size of latte and piccolo. There’s too much milk in a cup to my taste, therefore the flavour did not turned out as what I was expecting. Overall, I would say MOC will be a place to chill rather than a coffee place for coffee enthusiast.
Some background, Doi Chaang coffee are single-estate organic Arabica coffee and practices fair trade whereby profits are shared based on 50% profits with villagers in the Northern Thailand. The coffee is shade-grown, hand-picked & sun-dried and cultivated in small family gardens with everyone committed to maintaining sustainable agriculture and having minimal impact on the natural habitat.
With Anna and Eric
The coffee gathering, involved lots of camera talk and playing with new lens.
Deco’s and quotes
Though I did not fancy their espresso coffee, in Ministry of Coffee they’ve got various brewing methods with fancy equipments that’s worth for a try.
