Mersilau Hill – Mount Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Alright…this is a super super long time ago about 6 months back…I’ve been so busy and tied up with so many stuff postponing to blog about it.

The journey to Mount Kinabalu Park also known as Mount KK (it’s a HUGE place, really huge) was a 2 hours of bumpy ride something like heading up Genting but… slightly more extreme. 😉

At the pitstop of Nabalu you can find various handmade items and get your souvenirs.

here we are at the Mount Kinabalu park museum. Every year Mount KK will have it’s annual Climbathon competition and many participants will come and take part be it to break the record or to challenge themselves. This board contains all the results from last year Climbathon. Look at how fast people climb up Mount KK it’s about 2 – 3 hours to the peak from starting point to the ending point!

Here’s the route of Climbathon competition. I’ll like to climb mount KK one day too! It’s an lifetime experience of adventure! Anyways even overseas people had climb it too why not even we’re Malaysian? =)

Mount KK is also a world heritage site. Here’s the Mount KK Gallery which houses various types of plants, animals and species anything that can be found in the Mount Kinabalu Park.

here’s the safe of our Prime Minister Najib’s safe which can only open on 1st October 2020.

Next we’re heading to Mersilau Hill and along the way spotted the roads were under construction and it’s muddy and wet in Kundasang Town where fresh vegetables can be found. The wether changes quickly as well, one moment it could be raining heavily all of a sudden while at most of the time it’s just drizzle and damp. Not really sunny and you can feel cold breeze and it’s very windy.

We stayed in Mersilau Nature Resort under the Sutera Harbour group its 30 minutes drive from Mount Kinabalu Park. We’ve got our own little house with Living room, bathrooms and 3 bed rooms with radiators to keep us warm always!

spotted outside the restaurant, the flowers are so unique and very pretty. We did a short hike in the Nepenthes Trail and more exotic plants and of course lots of Nepenthes!

It’s a lifetime adventure. You should visit and take a look even though if your not going to climb Mount KK! Just being there at the lower end of the mountain we’ve discovered and the feeling was just awesome. Thanks to Sabah Tourism Board for bringing us around in conjunction with the Firefly inaugural flight to the East Malaysia (Kuching, Sabah and many more places soon).
