If your missing the Australian coffee taste, Artisan Coffee Bar or Artisan Roast is the place to go. I first got to know about Artisan Roast located in TTDI through word-of-mouth, later on from BFM interview on Artisan Coffee Bar. As am frequent in Bangsar, plus a friend of mine came down from Melbourne I decided to drag him along for coffee tasting while meeting up for our usual catch up.
I’ve never tasted any Australian coffee before which is why I got my friend to join me, since we were looking for a nice coffee place to catch up. The atmosphere at Artisan Coffee Bar is rather similar to the usual Australia cafes, wooden tables with bricks. It’s simple deco with coffee aroma fills the bar, makes it a nice place to hang out alone or with friends.

Sweet bites are available in small slices. I liked the fact, they served cakes in small slices instead of a huge slice where they make you very filling. TheLaskPolka homemade ice cream is available here too.
Order by the counter pay it on the spot, get a number and they would deliver your coffee to you.
From the BFM interview I got to know their barista have unique personality with a passion for coffee. It’s fascinating to get employees working in the front line who enjoy doing what they are paid to do. I’ve experienced the good and bad service delivered by baristas and this particular outlet I’m pretty satisfied with – especially after hearing from the interview.
Red Latte, RM 11
I was eager to try Red Espresso due to some reviews I’ve read online and I was curious about it. I fell in love with it instantly. Red Latte is a lovely decaf option on the menu, made from Rooibos tea in South Africa. The taste is unique and creamy, it’s not light yet not heavy, it was perfect!
Cappuccino, RM 11
My friend, Neil Walter, ordered Cappuccino. He gave it a thumbs up commenting it’s 90% similar to the ones from Australia.
A cup of coffee at Artisan consist a balance in acidity, bitterness and sweetness, plus you should not need to add any sugar in them. They serve truly good coffee, which is hardly found in KL and may not be appreciated by everyone. However, if you’ve drunk bad coffee as I did so too many times, you would adore Artisan.
The usual Bangsar crowd, Artisan Coffee Bar is quite pack most of the time and especially on weekends it’s full house, you might need to wait a couple of minutes to get a table. Alternatively, if your alone, you can easily get a seat by the coffee bar, perhaps chat with the barista if you wish – like your in a club for a drink by the bar.
