Here’s a simple DIY idea for you. Last week I DIY-ed this. Well recently for about 2 months plus, I had been revamping my room to make it like a “modern Princess room” by the way it’s 90% completed now. So I DIY-ed a board where I usually hang my earrings with lace.
I did considered getting a few earrings holder where they sell in flee markets or boutiques but one problem I have is that I’ve got quite a number of earrings and with a small room so I hang most of my earrings on the wall for easy viewing and to save space. I’ve also DIY-ed a box with some leftover lace.
So I’m gonna share with you how to make this simple & affordable earring or accessories board.
Things you’ll need:
- Note Board (Bulletin board)
- Scissors
- Pins
- Lace (depending on the size of your board) I’ve used 2 rolls of 13mm x 2m lace from Daiso.
- Measurement tape to measure the width of your board *optional. I just used the lace and cut directly.
All the materials can be bought in Daiso. They sell the board, pins and lace.
Estimated time: 20 minutes
Cost: RM 20+
Firstly after measuring the width of your board, just cut the lace according to the length and make sure you cut an extra allowance of about just enough to fit your lace into the frame of the board to secure it nicely. You may want to use a ruler to just push the lace deep inside. Then put a pin to secure it at the side.
Here you see I’ve placed a pin at the side and pull the lace before placing another pin. This is because I didn’t want to lace to be weighing down with some heavier earrings. But you can do a curve shape too if you like. It’s really up to you and just be creative.
This should be how it looks like. Make sure they are all straight unless, you are planning to do some patterns then it’s fine.
Final result, after hanging all the earrings.
Overall look. And your done! You can also hang your sunglasses by just hooking it to the lace too. But for me, am good to go just for earrings as I’ve got other places to fit all my accessories.
Left over lace and an empty Ferrero Rocher chocolate box, just turn it into a jewellery box.
Things you’ll need:
- Empty
- Super Glue – I’m using UHU
- Scissors
- Lace OR other decor stuff like ribbons, sequin roll etc.
Put some glue around on the box just below the lid, I followed along the line.
Gently place the lace over the glue and tap it with your fingers gently.
And ta-da! your done! A new accessories box. I’m lazy and ran out of lace to pimp the whole box, you can do so if you like. 🙂
Hope this simple DIY ideas can inspire you to create something similar. It’s a good gift for a friend too!
