Little Wonton at Jalan Telawi, Bangsar

The Little Wonton is a rather new place in Bangsar, finally I had the chance to drop by for a visit and decides to review it. After my dinner at KGB burger, I decided to try out special sweet flavoured wontons as desserts. Little Wonton is known for it’s speciality fried wontons in sweet or savory fillings and it’s black charcoal noodles. But it turned out, the banana chocolate wonton was sold out, since I’m here so I ordered a savory wonton instead, while my friend had a bowl of noodle.

The interior and deco in Little Wonton is a mixture of oriental and vintage style. I find the place small but cozy, the deco makes you feel relaxed as well. It was a rather quite weekday night in Little Wonton. You are required to order and pay at the counter, as it’s self service.

There are various sauce, syrup, chilis and free flow of raw carrots or cabbage to pair with your wontons at the counter.

My friend had Herbal Soup with wolfberries on Bird Nest Seaweed noodle (RM 4.90). It tasted horrible, soup was flat and tasteless.

Our Mushroom, Onion and Cheese wonton (RM 7.90) was good. My friend said this place might not survive as it’s more of a snack place for wonton rather than a meal. Well to prove him wrong, I decided to order the Charcoal noodle since everyone’s been raving about it.

There was various sauce to choose from for Charcoal Noodle (RM 4.90), I went with Garlic, Vinegar and Peach. You might think, what a weird combo, but turned out the charcoal noodle was good, the sauce gave a unique flavour while noodles were smooth in texture. My friend’s comment was “the charcoal noodle, edible lah”. So, be daring when you are ordering a bowl of Charcoal Noodle, it’s okay to pick weird flavour/sauce.

Overall, not too bad. I will be back for charcoal noodle and wontons. But, it will most likely be for light snack or tea time as the noodles aren’t very filling. I’ve ate a burger and I could still finish a bowl of charcoal noodle + wonton. Little Wonton offer set lunch promo (noodle + wonton + drink) for only RM 17.

In addition, if you would like to dine at the comfort of your home, Little Wonton offers delivery on FoodPanda.
