Aqua Bella Hotel, Beitou @ Taiwan

Shannon Chow · November 9, 2013 · Leave a Comment

During my trip to Taiwan, I decided to unwind on my last night in Taiwan. Our main aim was hot spring so we booked a room at Aqua Bella Hotel, which provides in-room private hot spring bath at a reasonable price from Agoda.

The Grace Room, 284 square feet with bold red/white queen bedding.

The room was decent and spacious, gives you a boutique hotel feel as well. The downside would be the check-in time at 5pm whereas most hotel check-in time is 3pm. However, that didn’t bother me as we were travelling back from TaiChung so by the time we reach Taipei is already evening.

Turns out, we only arrived at the hotel around 9.30pm, we were dead tired after getting mooncakes from Chia Te which was a long queue during the Mid-Autumn festival.

After checking in, we were served with Tang Yuen dessert. It was tasty, we certainly felt welcome by the the friendly aunty who deliver this to our room.

The reason we picked a hot spring hotel is because we’re rather shy in public baths. I know it’s a good experience but I don’t think I want to soak in a pool filled with strangers, due to hygiene purpose and unattractive sight of bare skin individuals of all ages. So after comparing prices of private hot spring baths, I came into conclusion that booking a hotel which offers private hot spring bath is a better choice as it’s much more affordable and convenient.

Private hot spring baths ranges from RM 100 to RM 150 per person in Beitou area, after all Taipei is slightly pricier. Whereas, with a good deal from Agoda, we booked Aqua Bella Hotel at only RM 370 including taxes for a  (Tuesday) night. A friend of mine, had private hot spring in TaiDong for about RM 30 per person. So, hot spring prices do varies in different areas of Taiwan.

Remember to read the instructions before soaking yourself in hot spring. You should not soak more than 1 hour, if you do have difficulties breathing, exit the bathtub immediately.

Overall, I’m satisfy with Aqua Bella Hotel especially the private in-room hot spring, where we can enjoy at the leisure of our time. The hotel is located within a 5 minutes walk from MRT station, however the short cut is a small pathway up the hill beside a Family Mart convenient store, if you are carrying trolley luggage be careful it’s slippery slope especially after rain. There are other hotels which offers hot spring in their rooms as well as a public hot spring area for public to enjoy with a entrance fee.
