It also shapes students’ mindset on industry relevant solutions and improve their knowledge in ICT which is in-line with the Government’s aspirations of a knowledge-based and innovation-led economy, emphasized by Datuk Fadillah, Deputy Minster, Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI).

During the launch, I was very inspired by a dancer performing using digital visuals enhancing his moves. It’s catchy, upbeat and entertaining.
One of the judging criteria for the competition is based on Innovativeness, Demonstrated Creativity & Originality of Idea.
To further illustrate this, be OUTSTANDING. Don’t think like the norm, each of us come from a different background, culture and upbringing. Instead of just googling for ideas why not go back to your own roots? Is there something you secretly wish there was a smarter way of doing things – improving an experience maybe?
Below are some ideas I find it smart yet solving our daily dilemma.

What do you think? My personal favourite is the fan on chopstick and the toilet paper iPod dock.Aside from innovative and creativity, other judging criteria you should consider are Value Proposition, Quality of Presentation & Clarity of Idea, Implementation Feasibility, Supporting Evidence & Market Demand and Green Features. These should be stated in the business proposal.
The grand finals and prize presentation ceremony will be held on 16 May 2013.
The champion team from the University Students category will walk way RM15,000 cash prize. The runner-up team will receive RM10,000 in cash and the third prize winners will receive a RM5,000 cash prize. All winning teams will receive a plaque each and certificates of participation. Fret not if you didn’t get to win the competition as there are 7 consolation prizes of RM 1,000 cash prize per team!
