Pick up lines over coffee. What if you get to meet a girl or guy and you fell head over heels? How would you approach her or him?
To save yourself from embarrassment moments, what about swiping through potential dates and discover if they are interested in you instantly through Paktor dating app.
Singaporean based networking app, Paktor, is a dream come true for anyone looking to score a date. The app is named after the word ‘Paktor’ which in the Hokkien dialect loosely translates into ‘going on a date’.
Launched in June this year, Paktor shortly clinched the third place on the top free iPhone apps chart for Singapore.
Currently, it is ranked the most downloaded networking app in Singapore by AppData.com, with more than 50 million profile ratings and 200,000 matches since its launch, and the number of active users is continuously expanding at an exponential rate. Following its success in Singapore, Paktor has also been recently launched in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and now, in Malaysia. The app is also set to make its debut soon in other Asian regions such as Japan and India.

It’s simple and easy to use feature makes it real fun to meet new people around you!
When I meant about around you, it means in the settings you can set “matching preference” based on gender, distance and age group.
Just a swipe away to give a thumbs down or up. Paktor uses a double-blind matching system that only matches and connects you to people who like you back. After a successful match, both of you will be able to chat in a private inbox.
So you get to decide whom you like to get to know with an easy swipe on your mobile screen. Maintaining anonymity until a person likes you back thus ensures embarrassment and rejection being avoided.
Here’s how the private inbox looks like and my profile.
During my time swiping through Paktor dating app, I’ve notice good and bad pick up lines within seconds which I ultimately did not reply. So here are some tips:-
Be nice and show that you are friendly by introducing yourself “Hi, My name is so and so, 26, from KL. Nice to meet you on Paktor app” then see how he/she replies. From most of the messages I received was, “Hi”, “Mind to intro?” these guys were rather rude and I find it no difference between the gaming world. I used to play online games so these are like a total turn off pick up lines for me. Some guys were so desperate, after asking and I just gave a brief intro, they jump right in to ask for a date and where you actually stay. It shows they are so desperate and even if I were single, I wouldn’t want to continue on the conversation.
I have another concern and advice, for the gents and ladies, as this is after all rather anonymous, never trust and follow blindly what a stranger tells you. They could be anyone behind the screen or with a fake picture. If you would like to meet the person face to face, always meet them in public places and make sure you inform a loved one, better be safe than sorry. While, in terms of how genuine these individuals are, we never know if they are married or in a relationship so be cautious.
What sets Paktor apart from other online dating websites is its locality. As scanning are done through distance, hence rest assured these individuals are physically in Malaysia or countries you visit. After trying out Paktor I have to say, its simple interface and location-based scanning gives you a higher chance of meeting your Mr/Miss Right. Just keep swiping wherever you are, as you will never know who’s around you might just be that person you’ve been looking for.
Paktor is available in Andriod and AppStore.
