Seafood Night Out with Sabah Tourism Board

Shannon Chow · July 11, 2011 · 6 Comments

Few months back (yes I know, such a delayed post) I was in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and we had a Seafood night out with Sabah Tourism Board at Kampung Nelayan Floating Seafood Market Restaurant.

fresh crabs, fish and huge aquarium to display. These seafood are soon to be in our stomach! This place is a tourist attraction besides it’s fresh seafood, it’s a floating restaurant above the lake.

giant fresh sabah coconut

digging in for the sweet coconut

shark fin soup that we can’t find any shark fins in it. Taste like egg and beancurb

the hilight of the night is a plate of molluscans

This is how you eat it. With a tooth pick pull the stuffing out and dip into the chili sauce and eat it.

Chew them nicely it’s bouncy and quite tough. Lastly don’t forget to leave the last part of the tail out. You can’t eat em.

Fried Crispy Chicken with lime and sour plum powder. Taste good and is very crispy.

the famous dish on our table is the deep fried soft-shell crabs. We’re so in love with it, the whole dish was finished within a few minutes after it was placed on our table.

Sabahan ferns stir fried with shrimp paste.

simple yet delicious prawns. The meat was sweet and fresh.

as for dessert we had Coconut pudding in the Giant Coconut!

taste was rich with coocnut and as tender as tofu

while having our dinner we were also entertained with traditional culture performances

blow pipes

dances

if your interested you could join them to dance on stage too!
