How to Share Your Instagram Photos on Blogs Sidebar

Shannon Chow · October 11, 2012 · 4 Comments

So you’ve taken pretty photos and had shared it in your Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr etc. But it’s not getting a lot of ‘likes’ so thanks to WebStagram your photos available to non-instagram users too, there’s also an advantage for bloggers to connect with their readers via the webstagram widget! I find that this is by far the best Instagram widget as compared to one or two previous ones which wasn’t as good as this.

I’ve added my Instagram photos at my sidebar as you can see. So say, by clicking on Heart Shape box picture from it is directed to the photo post in webstagram where users just need to sign up an account or if your already an Instagram user just log in and ‘like / comment’ on the photo.

Example: Heart Shape box Photo (link)

This function is great because, you can share awesome Instagram photos with non-instagram users or people who have not follow you yet as well increase in likes for your photos.

My Instagram widget layout is 2 x 3, you can choose the amount of photos to display.

Here’s how to get webstagram widget for your Blog.

Step 1: Go to WebStagram and click on Tools or (www.web.stagram.com/tools).

Step 2: Scroll down to the “Instagram Gallery for your Blog / Website” section.

Step 3: Choose your Parts Type “Username / Hashtag / Popular” if you would like to share your Instagram photos just select “Username”

Step 4: Fill in your Instagram username

Step 5: Customization. Choose your desired layout of the widget. Thumbnail size, layout, border or without border, background colour, space etc.

Step 6: Once you’ve finalized, click on Preview to check out the widget.

Step 7: Select Generate Code

How to add Widget in Blogger / Blogspot
You will have to copy and paste the HTML codes and paste it in your desired location on your blog. For Blogger, you can open your dashboard > Layout > Add a Widget > HTML/Java > paste the code > click save > rearrange the box place where you want it to be > click Save Arrangement.

How to add Widget in WordPress self hosted / wordpress.com
You will have to copy and paste the HTML codes and paste it into your desired location on your blog/website. Go to Appearance > Widgets > add text > paste the code > click save.

Alternatively, for wordpress self hosted, you can download a range of plugins for Instagram. Such as WP Daily Digest, Instagram For WordPress or Instagram Image Gallery and more.

If your still unsure or are using other blogging platforms such as wordpress or tumblr, you can check out the video tutorials done by WebStagram!

Hope this mini tutorial is helpful, especially to fellow bloggers! 🙂

You can also use Instagram Widget service from http://www.instagme.com. On my experience their service is much better. Good luck Instagramers! 😉
