Stuffed Crabs at Tong Juan in Kemaman, Terengganu

During my trip to Awana Kijal, we had the opportunity to try stuffed crabs. Known to be quite famous around here especially in Reasturant Tong Juan.

Apart from the popular Pak Su Seafood Reasturant, this place is famous for it’s Stuffed Crabs.

It’s a simple chinese seafood restaurant located in the town area.

This is my first time trying out Stuffed Crabs! I’ve never seen one before, it’s pretty interesting and only RM 7, each.

The stuffings inside of the stuffed crabs consist of fried crab meat with vegetables. Taste was a little flat perhaps it’s common around this area in Terengganu? But it’s still delicious, a must try if you’ve not tasted any stuffed crabs before.

The Fish Ball Soup is superb! I was told, this was their house speciality. Those fish balls were so chewy, bouncy and fresh! With vegetable soup, you’ll be asking for more.

The Fried Rice was rather flat in taste, however not that bad, as it goes well with our following dishes.

Sotong cooked with Belacan. Spicy hot dish!

Crispy Thai sauce Fish.

Stired-fried vegetables with garlic.

Beef cooked with ginger and onions.

We’re so excited with the stuffed crabs, that JQ and myself posed with it!

I would recommend if your around the Kemaman area to come dine here. After a meal, go get some awesome coffee and toast at Hai Peng Kopitiam, one of the best in town.

*Update: Stuffed crabs are priced at RM 8.50 per piece as of 28th July 2013, during my 2nd visit and Kemaman town is located only 20 – 30 minutes away from Cherating!
