Vanity Trove Malaysia: Temptress [Unboxing]

The beautiful surprises arrived at my doorstep mid last week, it was indeed a surprise, an unpleasant surprise.

Was thinking twice if I should review this. Since this trove was sent to me for review purposes, it was not in a “recommended” manner, should I still share my trove with everyone? I decided to reveal it on Facebook first and to share my thoughts in a detailed manner now.

An overview of the items in March 2013 Vanity Trove (Temptress)

This month’s Vanity Trove consist of 6 items:

• Lunasol Smoothing Makeup Base N
• Kanebo Lunasol Skin Fusing Powder Foundation
• Etre Belle Sensiplus Hydrasilk Day & Night Cream
• Etre Belle Sensiplus Hydrasilk Gel Tonic
• Asian Potions Hand and Body Lotion, ml unknown
• Bio-essence Bird’s Nest Bio-energy Firm & Brighten Eye Cream (not mentioned in the card)

Supposedly this month’s trove consist of 7 items. Assuming it’s due to mismanagement in packaging, they had left out TT Orchid Extract Whitening Mask worth RM 10 in my trove. I found out through instagram from another subscriber whom had shared her trove, then I realised my trove didn’t came with the TT Mask but attached with broucher and voucher for the products.

As I’ve raised this issue to Vanity Trove and I will be meeting them this week to collect the TT mask. Later upon posting about my disappointment, I found out I was not alone as a few others did not received the mask as well. It caused me some inconvenience and needless to say, this month’s trove was a total disappointment.

Aside from all the samples included in the trove were 45 minutes make over with Kanebo and discount vouchers from Asian Potions and TT mask.

The brands featured in this month’s trove are acceptable, in fact some are pretty good, however the size is unacceptable. I could have easily gotten these samples from departmental stores.

A makeup base with a light, moist texture that controls uneven skin surfaces and dullness. Smoothes areas of concern, such as visible pores, and leaves the skin silky smooth.

Asian Potions: Blooming Ginger Hand and Body Lotion (250 ml), RM 89
The perfect skin quencher that provides you with a dee inner calmness after a long day. Delicately scented with ginger flowers and light mix of Asian floral scents. It’s paraben, SLS and petrochemical free.

Bio-essence Bird’s Nest Bio-energy Firm & Brighten Eye Cream (unknown)
Nourishes skin with Bio-energy Fluid & Bio-Bird’s Nest Extract. Lightens dark circles, firms & brightens eye contours, smoothens fine lines & wrinkles.

I believed pictures paint a thousand words. A very dull month for Vanity Trove, despite the ‘excitement for the theme, Temptress’. Last month’s It’s All About Love – Feb edition was acceptable, while this month’s if I were to pay this trove, I would be really upset. Regarding on the theme, there isn’t a particular product I could pinpoint that carries the theme well – aside from Asian Potions Ginger Hand and Body Lotion that gives a slight seduction feel to it.

As for my final words on Vanity Trove March 2013 edition, sample sizes alone for an exclusive beauty box is unacceptable. We were promised with a minimum of one full size item each month, this is my second trove, unless you consider a facial mask as a full size item (I’ll rest my case on that).
