TSAR: ACCRA Collection 2012

Shannon Chow · August 2, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Fashion inspired by spirit of Africana, brings beautiful appealing patter fabrics turning them into heels, clutches and dresses. While Sariah was traveling in Africa she was inspired by the beautiful horizons of the West African country of Ghana. Inspired by harmonious spirit emanated by various tribes that made up it’s vast society, well-preserved heritage and folk arts.
Some of the ACCRA Collection 2012 showcased at The Bee in Publika, followed by a fashion show and last season sales clearance.

TSAR does not follow seasons; rather it is inspired by travel.

After being crowned as one of the winners at the recent APLF Award in Hong Kong for 2012, Wan Sariah Wan Jaafar is back to satiate a fashionista’s craving for everything tribal with her full summer collection – The Accra.
Sariah is the founder and designer of TSAR, bored of all things common and ordinary, turned her creativity into making shoes and handbags. The bags and shoes are handmade and limited in units meaning that if you buy a pair of shoes or acquire a handbag from TSAR, you are probably one of only a few people in the world to own such an item.

The ACCRA Collection 2012.

The Bassa flats, which makes a perfect complement to that summer’s de rigueur sundresses; Dama and Dama Deux – patterned fabric wedges with patent leather wedges embodying both resplendence and contemporary feel and the Vivienne Westwood-inspired Farmatta, which is crafted from printed fabric in olive green with opulent touch of leather at the shoe’s counter and toebox are meant for those who are trendsetters in their own right. As for the girls next door, strappy yet sexy open toed Mattata wedges in olive green and sunrise, as well as the eye-catching and quirky Sundaymah platform heels and the elegant peeped toed Zoe are just the right pairs for you.

Fabulous shoes are then paired with a slew of glamorous clutches such as Yeanue and Zokaya. Yeanue for instance, is a mesmerising work of art in its own right, thanks to the beautiful illustration of the universe with speckles of gold paint dots dotting all over the fabric, just like a constellation of stars. Zokaya on the other hand, represents the richness of Ghana – being one of the top gold producers in the world. Like Yeanue, the clutch is also doused in speckles of gold paint dots, thus perfectly adding some zest into your cocktail look.

There is always something new and exciting that will be featured in TSAR. Sariah continues to scour the globe in search of fabrics – helping communities by buying directly from the traders or villages. Her travels are inspiration to put a little bit of the globe in your wardrobe.

The handmade heels are a perfect fit and it’s superb comfortable.

Did something caught your eye?

TSAR tagline – subtly eccentric ethnic products with a contemporary appeal – suggests one thing that is definite – your bag or shoes will be the catalyst for any conversation.

The Accra Collection 2012 is currently retailed via its official web store www.tsar.asia with prices ranging from US$125.00 onwards. As TSAR do not mass market their products, hence certain items may requires you to pre-order; they offer customize heels too as each heels are handmade!
