A KL Getaway at Traders Hotel

Shannon Chow · November 3, 2012 · 2 Comments

Indulge in a mini KL city getaway, in the city with my love. It’s rather funny, being a KL girl having a getaway in the city. It was a complimentary stay as I won a “1 night stay at Traders Hotel” from Hot Magazine 200th Issue party – it was pure lady luck.

Our room at Traders Hotel – Deluxe City View. The room was spacious while the hotel is located beside the KL Convention Center. It’s rather convenient, as there’s a bridge linking from KL convention to Pavilion and surrounding Traders there’s many shopping malls; plus points for the ladies. Within walking distance, there’s Suria KLCC mall, Pavilion, Starhill, Sephora, Fahrenheit 88, H&M flagship store, Sungai Wang for cheap bargains on fashion and accessories and further down Low Yat Plaza for all the technology & gadgets stuff.

There’s mini bar facility inside the room, hair dryer, water there are chargeable and complimentary ones and the service provided by the front desk is excellent! She even guided us after checking-in to our room and make sure we feel at home despite the fact we’re locals, she was very friendly and helpful!

I’m quite particular about bathroom in a hotel room. Well, to me it’s essential and we’ve got bath tub and shower room. I don’t really like to shower inside the bath tub as it tends to be slippery – as some hotels combine them to save space. You’ll notice on the towels there’s a lollipop, the boyfriend was curious why a lollipop was doing in a bathroom. I explained that people soak in the tub to relax and chill sometimes we read a book or if it’s there’s a window one could watch movies from the TV – perhaps Traders thought it would be nice for you to have a lollipop while relaxing.

Our room view. I liked the fact that our rooms are overlooking the KLCC garden/park filled with lost of greens while the skyscrapers are behind it. This is indeed a nice “City View” room. There are various types of rooms which offer KLCC view and so on.

There’s plenty of night spots around KLCC and Pavilion however, if your in Traders you shouldn’t miss checking out the SkyBar it’s located on level 33 overlooking KLCC. It’s recommended you arrive at the bar at 10pm as it’s pretty pack and usually full house you’ll need to get a seat. With my boyfriend we got a seat at the bar and the bartender recommended us Lychee Rose and Selangor Sling. I would say, Lychee Rose is a lady drink – love the combo of Lychee and Rose fragrance with vodka.

A stunning view of KLCC from SkyBar.It was a fun getaway as for the past couple of weeks, both me and my boyfriend had been busy with our own stuff so we got to take the weekend off to spend some time together and I got to check out the newly open H&M store and did some shopping.

I would have to say, Traders Hotel is really a strategic location, lots of food outlets and variety to choose from in the different shopping malls plus it’s all within walking distance. No hassle to take a cab which in KL they are a rip-off, especially on foreigners!

Guest get unlimited complimentary parking when you park at the Traders Hotel parking zone – it’s free of charge if your a Hotel guest and you can enter as many times as you like there’s no limits but you are required to validate the parking ticket at front desk.
