Birthday Dinner at Wondermama, Bangsar

Shannon Chow · September 28, 2012 · 1 Comment

A simple birthday this year, having dinner to celebrate my birthday of great company from the fluffy boyfriend.

I’ve decided to try out Wondermama after all the hype and reviews. Indeed a great place for a Sunday brunch, dinner with friends and just brings back old memory for the 80’s and 90’s babies!

Kitchen Counter in mamak hawker style.

D&L Super Chicken Pongteh, RM 15.90
Boyfriend ordered this dish. Malacca style nyonya chicken served with steamed rice, crispy foo chook and fried egg. The flavour was great except it was kind of flat due to lack of salt so it didn’t taste as good as my grandma’s cooking this chicken dish. But I can taste the sauce is great, just needs to add a little more salt, pair with crispy foo chook and egg is a complete meal bringing back memories of home cooked food.

Chicken in special sauce and potato. Reminds me of my grandma’s cooking.

Chicken Katsu Burger, RM 13.80
I had burger, portion are kind of small but after having desserts this is just sufficient.

Tomato, cucumber,  lettuce, tartar sauce, tongkatsu sauce served with fries or potato salad.

Side order we had the Mini Naan Pizza Mushroom, RM 13.90
Red goji bean, cheese, green salad, truffle oil. Very unique as a Naan turns pizza is something everyone must try! The cheese is delicious!

Nanyang White Kopi Hot, RM 4.80 and  Special Ice White Kopi with Kopi Jelly, RM 7.30.
The kopi Jelly is nice served in old mug style. Vintage.

I call him, fluffy. It’s a long story on that one. 🙂

Larry aka Fluffy and me.

Potong homemade ice cream Cherry Root Beer and Nutty Choc, RM 5 each.

Nutty Chocolate is made from Nutella + fresh coconut where as Cherry Root Beer is from A&W Classic Root Beer, Vanilla ice cream, maraschino cherry.Although I’m a Nutella person but the chocolate wasn’t rich here so I prefer the Cherry Root Beer, you get to chew on cherry in the stick ice cream!

Homemade Kuih on the house! Every table on that night gets complementary kuih. Probably it’s because they are closing soon. But Thanks Wondermama!

A great place to dine especially at the heart of Bangsar.
