Burger Hunt: Crayon Burger @ SS15 Subang

I first saw Crayon Burger colourful buns on Instagram and Facebook, later I met the founder Christian Teo through inspire.fm interview. You can listen to the podcast where he share about His Major vs His Career.

So I decided to pop by over lunch on a Saturday with the boyfriend to try out famous colourful pastel buns.

Cheese Fondue Chicken, RM 15.50

Frankly, there’s lot’s of improvement where Crayon Burger can work on. I love how the cheese melts all over fluffy soft buns but, the chicken patty is a disaster. Lacks in flavour but thank goodness the cheese complements the flavour. With a thick slice of chicken breast, it was rather dry and I was hopping it to be served fried or somethin

Double Rainbow Chicken, RM 16.00

Well, as the above I’ve tried the single patty, turns out this one comes in double as the name states it, I regretted ordering it. And since I didn’t know what to order and the person behind the counter wasn’t very helpful at all, I didn’t enjoy my meal at Crayon Burger except for the fries and cheese.

I’m still holding my hope up on Crayon Burger, I do hear good stuff about them from other food bloggers and I’ll be making another trip down Subang to try their Zombie Burger. I’ll probably order only their Beef this time around. They’ve got other burgers such as The Boss and their dessert burger looks good too. So I’ll update this post at a later time after my second visit. 🙂

Overall although the burger are just so-so and chicken is a disaster, I do like their concept of a colourful outlet and artistic drawings on the wall.

with the boyfriend.

Final advice, do order the set as it comes with fries and free flow of soft drinks!

Currently, my other favourite in SS15 is Burgertory, they serve great pork burgers.

Anyways with the amount of burger joints mushrooming in town, Crayon Burger have got to stay ahead of the game. With a good concept of colourful buns, they do have potential but seasoning of the patty really requires some improvements.

True enough, the chicken patty lacks in flavor and is rather plain and dry. Lots of room for improvement. Environment is quite good, but the chalks can contribute dust too. Overall, a decent place for a burger. Friendly services, unlimited refills n nice artwork.
